Richard Compton whose illness was noted a couple of weeks ago, aged 57 years died early Tuesday morning at the county home where he was given care for the last few days of his illness. He had been in declining health the past 3 years from an enemic condition and hardening of the arteries. The funeral services under the direction of Rev. Harmon were held from the Boord undertaking parlors at 11 am. Thursday interment following in Mt. Hope cemetery. The deceased had lived in this county most of his life, having lost a portion of his left arm and hand in a corn shredder several years ago and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. TA Arnold of Chicago Heights, who with her husband and family were present at the funeral services and burial. - kbz
